Sorafenat 200 mg Tablet is an anti-cancer medicine that contains the active ingredient sorafenib. It is prescribed for the treatment of advanced renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer), advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer) in patients who are not suitable candidates for surgery, and differentiated thyroid carcinoma (thyroid cancer) that does not respond to radioactive iodine therapy.

Common side effects of Sorafenat 200 mg Tablet include diarrhea, fatigue, abdominal pain, nausea, weakness, skin rashes, flu-like symptoms, decreased appetite, weight loss, and low calcium levels in the blood. If any of these side effects become troublesome or persist, consult your doctor.

Do not take this medication if you are allergic to sorafenib or any of its components. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have heart disease, chest pain, bleeding disorders, high blood pressure, or if you have recently undergone or are planning to undergo surgery.

It is important to use effective contraception during treatment. Women should continue using birth control during therapy and for at least 6 months after the final dose. Men should use effective contraception during treatment and for at least 3 months after completing therapy.

Sorafenat 200mg Tablet works by inhibiting multiple receptor tyrosine kinases (enzymes), primarily vascular endothelial growth factor receptors and platelet-derived growth factor-Ξ² receptors. This prevents the development of blood vessels in tumor cells (angiogenesis) and arrests the growth and spread of the tumor cells to other organs.
