Introduction to Staurinz 25mg Capsule

Staurinz 25 mg Capsule contains the active ingredient midostaurin. It is an anti-cancer medication that belongs to the class of drugs called tyrosine kinase inhibitors. This medicine is used in combination with other chemotherapy drugs to treat acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in adults with a genetic mutation in the FLT3 gene. AML is a type of blood cancer in which the body produces an excessive number of abnormal myeloid white blood cells.

Staurinz 25 mg Capsule is also prescribed for adults with aggressive systemic mastocytosis (ASM), systemic mastocytosis with associated hematological neoplasm (SM-AHN), or mast cell leukemia (MCL).

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to midostaurin or any of its ingredients. Inform your doctor if you have signs of infection, heart problems, lung disease, or breathing difficulties. Seek medical attention immediately if you experience symptoms such as fever, sore throat, mouth ulcers, cough (with or without mucus), chest pain, shortness of breath, or swelling in any part of the body during treatment.

This medicine is not recommended for children or adolescents under 18 years of age. Before starting treatment, tell your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant. Staurinz may affect fertility in both men and women, so discuss this with your doctor before beginning therapy.

The most common side effects of Staurinz 25 mg Capsule include fever with reduced blood cell counts, nausea, vomiting, headache, muscle or joint pain, increased blood sugar levels, and respiratory infections.
