Introduction to Fulvested 250mg Injection

Fulvested 250 mg injection contains fulvestrant as its active ingredient. It is an anticancer medicine that belongs to the class of estrogen receptor antagonists. Estrogen, a female sex hormone, can sometimes promote the growth of certain breast cancers. This injection is used as monotherapy in postmenopausal women with estrogen receptor–positive breast cancer that is locally advanced or has spread to other parts of the body. It is also used in combination with other anticancer medicines for the treatment of hormone receptor–positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)–negative breast cancer that is locally advanced or metastatic.

This injection should not be used if you are allergic to fulvestrant or any of its ingredients, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have severe liver impairment. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease, bone disorders, bleeding problems, or heart conditions. Fulvested 250 mg injection is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience signs of an allergic reaction, such as swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, after receiving the injection.

Common side effects of Fulvested 250 mg injection include pain or inflammation at the injection site, increased liver enzyme levels, nausea, headache, cough, fatigue, joint and muscle pain, hot flashes, hair loss, and skin rash. Your doctor may recommend regular blood tests during treatment to monitor your condition. This medicine may increase the risk of bleeding and liver failure.

Women of reproductive potential should use effective contraception during treatment with this injection and continue for at least two years after the final dose.
