Introduction to Fulvest 250mg Injection

Fulvest 250mg injection contains the active ingredient fulvestrant, an antineoplastic medication classified as an estrogen receptor antagonist. Estrogen, a hormone primarily associated with female reproductive functions, can sometimes promote the growth of breast cancer. This medication is prescribed alone to treat postmenopausal women with a specific type of breast cancer known as estrogen receptor-positive, which is either locally advanced or has spread to other parts of the body. It is also used in combination with other anti-cancer drugs to treat women with hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer that is locally advanced or metastatic.

Do not use this injection if you are allergic to fulvestrant or any other ingredients, pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have severe liver problems. Before starting treatment, inform your healthcare provider if you have kidney or liver issues, bone disorders, bleeding problems, or heart conditions. Fulvest 250mg is not suitable for children or adolescents under 18 years old. Seek medical attention if you experience allergic reactions such as swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat after receiving this medication.

Common side effects include pain or swelling at the injection site, abnormal liver enzyme levels, nausea, headache, cough, fatigue, joint and muscle pain, hot flashes, hair loss, and skin rashes. Your doctor may recommend blood tests during treatment. This medication may increase the risk of bleeding and liver failure. Women of reproductive age should use effective contraception throughout the treatment and for two years after the final dose.

This can slow or stop the growth of tumor cells.
