Introduction to Cytosar 100mg Injection

Cytosar 100 mg Injection contains cytarabine as its active ingredient. It is an antineoplastic (anti-cancer) medicine belonging to the antimetabolite class. It is used alone or in combination with other chemotherapy medicines to treat certain types of leukemia, including acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML). It is also used alone or with other chemotherapy drugs for the treatment and prevention of meningeal leukemia, a condition in which cancer affects the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord.

Do not use Cytosar 100 mg Injection if you are allergic to cytarabine or any of the other ingredients in this medicine. Before receiving this treatment, inform your doctor if you have problems with coordination, are taking other anti-cancer medicines, have reduced bone marrow function, liver disease, or if you have recently undergone dialysis.

Cytosar 100 mg Injection may increase uric acid levels in the blood. Your doctor will advise you if medication is required to manage this. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash, itching, hives, swelling of the face, lips, mouth, or throat, difficulty breathing, or wheezing.

The safety of this medicine in patients with kidney failure has not been fully established. Inform your doctor if you have any kidney-related conditions before starting treatment.
