Introduction to Cytaright 100mg Injection

Cytaright 100 mg Injection contains cytarabine as its active ingredient. It is an antineoplastic (anti-cancer) medicine belonging to the antimetabolite class. It is used alone or in combination with other chemotherapy medicines to treat certain types of leukaemia, including acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) and chronic myelogenous leukaemia (CML). It is also used alone or with other chemotherapy drugs for the treatment and prevention of meningeal leukaemia, a condition in which cancer affects the membranes that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.

Do not use Cytaright 100 mg Injection if you are allergic to cytarabine or any of the other ingredients in this medicine. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have problems with coordination, are receiving other anti-cancer therapies, have reduced bone marrow function, liver disease, or if you have recently undergone dialysis.

This medicine may increase the level of uric acid in your blood. Your doctor will advise you if treatment is required to manage this. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience symptoms of an allergic reaction, such as rash, itching, hives, swelling of the face, lips, mouth, or throat, difficulty breathing, or wheezing.

The safety of this medicine in patients with kidney failure has not been fully established. Inform your doctor if you have any kidney-related conditions before receiving this medicine.

Inform your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, nutritional and vitamin supplements, vaccines, and herbal products. Certain medications may interact with the effects of Cytaright 100mg Injection and reduce its effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects. Inform your physician if you are using digoxin.
