Introduction to Cytosar 1000mg Injection

Cytosar 1000 mg Injection contains the active ingredient Cytarabine, an antineoplastic medication in the antimetabolite class. It is used alone or in combination with other chemotherapy drugs to treat certain types of leukemia (a blood cancer with excessive white blood cells), including acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML). It is also prescribed alone or with other chemotherapy medications to treat and prevent meningeal leukemia (cancer affecting the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord).

Do not use Cytosar 1000 mg injection if you are allergic to Cytarabine or any other ingredient in this medicine. Inform your doctor before starting treatment if you have:

Problems with body coordination

Reduced bone marrow function

Liver disease

Recently undergone dialysis

Are taking other anti-cancer medications

Cytosar may increase uric acid levels in your blood. Your doctor will advise whether you need medication to manage this.

Seek medical attention immediately if you experience allergic reactions such as:

Rash, itching, or hives

Swelling of the face, lips, mouth, or throat

Shortness of breath or wheezing
