Introduction to Cytaright 1000mg Injection

Cytaright 1000 mg Injection contains the active ingredient cytarabine, an antineoplastic (anti-cancer) medicine belonging to the antimetabolite class. It is used alone or in combination with other chemotherapy drugs to treat certain types of leukaemia, including acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) and chronic myelogenous leukaemia (CML). It is also used either alone or with other chemotherapy medicines to treat and prevent meningeal leukaemia, a condition in which cancer affects the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord.

Do not use Cytaright 1000 mg Injection if you are allergic to cytarabine or any of the other ingredients in this medicine. Before receiving this treatment, inform your doctor if you have problems with body coordination, are taking other anti-cancer medicines, have reduced bone marrow function, liver disease, or if you have recently undergone dialysis.

This medicine may increase the level of uric acid in your blood. Your doctor will advise you if medication is needed to control this. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash, itching, hives, swelling of the face, lips, mouth, or throat, difficulty breathing, or wheezing.

The safety of this medicine in patients with kidney failure is not fully known. Inform your doctor if you have any kidney-related conditions before starting treatment.

Cytaright 1000mg Injection is used in the treatment of the following:

Acute myeloid leukemia (AML)
Chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML)

Inform your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, nutritional and vitamin supplements, vaccines, and herbal products. Certain medications may interact with the effects of Cytaright 1000mg Injection and reduce its effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects. Inform your physician if you are using digoxin.
