Cabotres 20 mg Tablet – Product Overview

Cabotres 20 mg Tablet is an anti-cancer (antineoplastic) medicine that contains Cabozantinib as its active ingredient. It belongs to a group of medicines known as tyrosine kinase inhibitors, which work by blocking certain proteins that help cancer cells grow and spread.

In adults, Cabotres 20 mg Tablet is used to treat:

Advanced kidney cancer (renal cell carcinoma), often given together with Nivolumab

Locally advanced or metastatic differentiated thyroid cancer

Liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma) when treatment with Sorafenib is no longer effective

This medication is not recommended for patients under 18 years of age.

Warnings and Precautions

Do not take Cabotres 20 mg Tablet if you are allergic to Cabozantinib or any of the other ingredients in this medicine.

Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have:

Liver disease

Inflammatory bowel disease

High blood pressure

Heart problems

Persistent or severe diarrhea

You should also notify your healthcare provider if you have a history of:

Blood clots in the legs

Significant bleeding

Aneurysm (swelling or weakening of blood vessels)

Tears or damage to blood vessel walls

If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or think you may be pregnant, consult your doctor before using this medication. Effective contraception should be used during treatment and for at least four months after stopping therapy. Discuss any fertility concerns with your doctor.

Before Beginning Treatment

Inform your doctor if you have any thyroid disorders. Thyroid function tests should be carried out before initiating treatment.

Tell your physician if you have recently had surgery, including dental procedures, within the past month.

Avoid consuming grapefruit or grapefruit juice while taking this medicine, as they may increase the drug levels in your bloodstream.

This medication contains lactose. If you have lactose intolerance or sensitivity to certain sugars, consult your doctor before taking it.
