Introduction to Azel 160mg Tablet

Azel 160 mg tablet contains Enzalutamide as its active ingredient. It is an anticancer (antineoplastic) medication classified as an androgen receptor inhibitor. This medicine is used to treat advanced prostate cancer in patients whose disease has not responded adequately to surgical or hormonal therapy.

Do not take this medication if you are allergic to Enzalutamide or any of its components. During treatment, your doctor may regularly monitor your condition through Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) testing. PSA is a protein produced by the prostate gland, and elevated levels may indicate prostate cancer progression. Monitoring PSA levels helps assess how well the treatment is working. Your doctor may also recommend liver function tests and a complete blood count (CBC) to reduce the risk of serious side effects.

This medication may increase the risk of seizures; therefore, patients with a history of seizures should use it with caution and inform their healthcare provider before starting treatment. Avoid consuming grapefruit or grapefruit juice while taking this medicine, as it may increase the drug’s levels in the bloodstream.

Azel 160 mg tablet is not recommended during pregnancy because it may harm the unborn baby and can also affect fertility. Inform your doctor if you have any concerns about fertility before beginning treatment. Both men and women are advised to use effective contraception during treatment and for at least three months after the final dose.
