Admapag 50mg Tablet is an anticoagulant medication classified as a thrombopoietin (TPO) receptor agonist, containing the active ingredient Eltrombopag. It is used to manage low platelet counts caused by conditions such as primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) or hepatitis C (HCV) infection. ITP is an autoimmune disorder where the immune system attacks and destroys plateletsβ€”blood cells essential for clotting and protecting blood vessel walls. Low platelet counts can lead to excessive bleeding and easy bruising.

This medication is also prescribed for adults with severe aplastic anaemia, a serious condition in which the bone marrow does not produce enough blood cells, leading to low blood counts.

Important Safety Information:

Allergic reactions: Do not take Admapag 50mg if you are allergic or hypersensitive to eltrombopag or any other ingredient in the tablet. Allergic reactions may include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, or difficulty breathing.

Liver health: Avoid using this medication if you have severe liver problems or active liver disease. Admapag can affect liver function, causing elevated liver enzymes or bilirubin levels. Regular liver monitoring may be required.

Eye health: Your doctor may recommend checking for cataracts and examining your retina for bleeding, especially if you do not have regular eye exams.

Usage Guidelines:

Stopping the tablet can cause platelet levels to drop within a few days. Your doctor will monitor your platelet counts and adjust your dose to keep them within a safe range. Very high platelet levels may increase the risk of blood clots, but clotting can also occur even at normal or low platelet counts.

Do not take Admapag with dairy products or calcium-rich drinks, as calcium can reduce the absorption of the medication.
