Admapag 50mg Tablet 10’s is an anticoagulant medication classified as a thrombopoietin (TPO) receptor agonist, containing the active ingredient Eltrombopag. It is used to treat low platelet counts caused by primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) or hepatitis C (HCV) infection, consistent with its clinical applications. ITP is an autoimmune disorder in which the immune system attacks platelets, which are blood cells that help with clotting and protect blood vessel walls. Low platelet counts can lead to easy bruising and severe bleeding.

This tablet is also prescribed for adults with severe aplastic anaemia, a serious condition where the bone marrow does not produce enough new blood cells, resulting in low blood counts.

Important Safety Information:

Allergic reactions: Do not take this medication if you are allergic to eltrombopag or any other component of the tablet. Reactions can range from mild (rash, itching, swelling) to severe (dizziness, difficulty breathing).

Liver conditions: Avoid use in patients with severe liver impairment or active liver disease. Admapag can affect liver function, potentially increasing liver enzymes and bilirubin. Regular liver monitoring may be required.

Eye health: Your doctor may recommend checking for cataracts and examining the retina for bleeding, especially if you do not have routine eye exams.
