Tykerb 250mg Tablet contains the active ingredient lapatinib. It is used to treat advanced breast cancer and can be prescribed either alone or in combination with other medications. Tykerb is effective against hormone-sensitive cancer cells as well as fast-growing cancer cells that produce high levels of a protein called human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2).

Common side effects may include: nausea, vomiting, fatigue, weakness, itching, dry skin, loss of appetite, indigestion, constipation, mouth sores, stomach discomfort, difficulty sleeping, joint or back pain, cough, breathing difficulties, and headache.

Important precautions:

Seek immediate medical attention if you develop severe allergic reactions, widespread rashes, or signs of heart, liver, or lung problems.
