Therotepa 15mg Injection is an anticancer medication classified as an antineoplastic agent. It contains the active substance thiotepa. This medicine is commonly given in combination with other chemotherapy drugs before a stem cell transplant in adult patients who have cancer involving the lymph nodes of the central nervous system. It is used as a conditioning treatment prior to stem cell transplantation to help lower the risk of graft rejection.

Additionally, Therotepa is used to manage fluid buildup in body cavities caused by cancer affecting the serous membranes. It is also prescribed for the treatment of breast, ovarian, and bladder cancers.

Therotepa 15mg Injection acts by damaging the genetic material (DNA and RNA) of the cancer cells. It stops the growth and multiplication of cancer by directly attacking DNA. This causes the breakage of DNA strands. This leads to the exertion of cytotoxic effect and death of tumor cells.
