Introduction to Thailogem 100mg Capsule

Thailogem 100mg Capsule contains the active ingredient Thalidomide and belongs to a group of medicines known as immunomodulatory agents. It is mainly used to treat patients who have been newly diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of cancer that affects plasma cells (a form of white blood cell). In multiple myeloma, these cells multiply uncontrollably and build up in the bone marrow, leading to bone damage and kidney problems.

This medicine is also prescribed for the treatment of moderate to severe new lesions associated with leprosy, a chronic infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium leprae, which primarily affects the skin and nerves.

Possible Side Effects
Common side effects may include sleepiness, headache, dizziness, skin rash, pain, fatigue, constipation, nausea, impotence, reduced appetite, fever, and depression. Inform your doctor if any of these effects persist or become troublesome.

Because Thailogem can cause serious birth defects, it is essential to use effective contraception during treatment. Consult your doctor for guidance on suitable birth control methods.

Precautions
Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to Thalidomide or any of its ingredients.

Inform your doctor if you have a history of blood clots, heart attack, nerve damage (neuropathy), slow heart rate, abnormal blood pressure, liver or kidney disease, or viral infections such as HIV, hepatitis B, or varicella-zoster.

Your doctor may monitor your thyroid function before and during treatment.

Stop taking Thailogem 100mg Capsule and seek medical advice immediately if you suspect pregnancy, miss a menstrual period, notice changes in menstrual bleeding, or have had unprotected sexual intercourse.

This medication is not recommended for adolescents or children under 18 years of age.

Adjunct to Dexamethasone for treating newly diagnosed multiple myeloma.
Treatment of moderate to severe leprosy.
Prevention of recurrence of skin lesions in leprosy.

Thailogem 100mg capsule reduces inflammation and regulates the immune system. It works by enabling the body’s immune system and attacking the cancer cells. It inhibits tumor necrosis factor-alpha, increases the production of interleukin-10 and interacts with the T-cells to generate an immune response. It halts the growth of blood vessels in cancer cells and arrests their development.
