Spexib 150 mg Capsule contains the active ingredient ceritinib. It is an anti-cancer (antineoplastic) medication that belongs to a class of drugs known as tyrosine kinase inhibitors. This medicine is prescribed for the treatment of adults with a specific type of lung cancer called anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK)-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

Do not take Spexib 150 mg Capsule if you are allergic to ceritinib or any of the other ingredients in this medicine. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have a history of kidney, lung, liver, or pancreatic problems, or if you have diabetes or issues with blood sugar control.

Tell your doctor if you have any heart conditions, including a prolonged QT interval (an abnormality in the heart’s electrical activity), or if you are taking steroid medications. During treatment, your doctor will perform regular blood tests to monitor your liver, blood counts, and pancreatic functionβ€”typically every two weeks for the first three months and monthly thereafter.

Avoid consuming grapefruit or grapefruit juice while taking this medication, as it may increase the levels of the drug in your bloodstream.

Inform your doctor immediately if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or think you may be pregnant. Effective contraception should be used during treatment and for at least 90 days after completing therapy. Oral contraceptives may not be fully effective when taken with this medicine, so discuss suitable birth control options with your doctor. Inform your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, recent vaccinations, nutritional and vitamin supplements, and herbal products. Certain medications such as ritonavir, Antifungal, antibiotics, anti-epileptics, and other medications may interact with Spexib 150mg and reduce its effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects.
