Pivikto 200 mg + 50 mg Tablet contains alpelisib, an anticancer medication that belongs to the class of PI3K (phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase) inhibitors. It is prescribed in combination with other anticancer medicines to treat a specific type of breast cancer that has spread to nearby tissues or other parts of the body. This treatment is intended for postmenopausal women and for men whose cancer has worsened during or after prior therapies.

Additionally, this medicine may be used in patients with PIK3CA-related overgrowth spectrum (PROS), a genetic condition that causes abnormal tissue overgrowth and deformities in certain parts of the body.

Do not take Pivikto 200 mg + 50 mg if you are allergic to alpelisib or any other ingredient in the tablet. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have high blood sugar or diabetes, bone disorders, skin conditions, or symptoms like rashes, blisters on the lips, eyes, or mouth, peeling skin, fever, or widespread redness.

Seek immediate medical attention if you experience serious symptoms such as rash, itching, hives, difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, wheezing, persistent cough, low blood pressure, or discoloration of the lips, tongue, or skin.

Pivikto 200mg + 50mg is a kinase inhibitor of phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI3K) with inhibitory activity predominantly against PI3K-alpha. In breast cancer cell cells, PI3K inhibition by this medicine induces an increase in estrogen receptor transcription. These enzymes help cancer cells to grow and multiply. By blocking their action, it can reduce cancer growth and spread and help destroy cancer cells.
