Lenakast 10mg Capsule is classified as an immunomodulatory agent and contains the active ingredient Lenalidomide. It is prescribed for adults to treat multiple myeloma, mantle cell lymphoma, myelodysplastic syndrome, and follicular lymphoma.

Multiple myeloma is a type of cancer in which plasma cells in the bone marrow multiply uncontrollably, crowding out healthy cells. Although it cannot be cured, treatment can help relieve symptoms. Myelodysplastic syndrome refers to a group of disorders where blood cells are abnormal and do not function properly. Mantle cell lymphoma is a rare cancer affecting the lymph nodes, while follicular lymphoma is a slow-growing cancer of B cells.

Common side effects of Lenakast 10mg Capsule may include nausea, diarrhea, constipation, muscle cramps, fatigue, fever, cough, headache, back pain, shortness of breath, rashes, and thyroid or skin issues. Contact your doctor if any side effects are severe, persistent, or troublesome.

Before starting this medication, inform your doctor if you have allergies to Lenakast or any of its ingredients. It is important to disclose if you have a history of blood clots, heart attack, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or if you smoke.

Additionally, inform your healthcare provider if you have any viral infections, such as hepatitis B, varicella zoster, or HIV. Your doctor will monitor your blood regularly during treatment, as this medication can cause a decrease in blood cells.

Lenakast 10mg Capsule is not recommended for children under 18 years of age.

It works by antagonizing the growth of blood vessels in the cancer cells and delaying the development of cancer cells. It inhibits the growth and multiplication of tumor cells.
