Introduction to Hemlibra 105mg Injection

Hemlibra 105 mg Injection contains the active ingredient emicizumab and belongs to a class of medicines known as monoclonal antibodies. It is used to treat patients with haemophilia A who have developed factor VIII inhibitors, as well as those with severe haemophilia A who have not developed factor VIII inhibitors (with factor VIII blood levels below 1%).

Haemophilia A is an inherited bleeding disorder caused by a deficiency of factor VIII, a protein essential for normal blood clotting. Monoclonal antibodies are specialized proteins that bind to specific targets in the body. Hemlibra helps prevent bleeding episodes or reduces their frequency in patients with haemophilia A.

Do not use Hemlibra 105 mg Injection if you are allergic to emicizumab or any of the other ingredients. Before starting this medication, inform your doctor about all other medicines you are taking. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if bleeding occurs while using this injection.

This medicine can be used in patients of all age groups. The injection should not be administered into areas where the skin is red, bruised, tender, hardened, or has moles or scars.

Emicizumab binds to activated factor IX and factor X to restore function to the coagulation cascade and promote hemostasis. It restores the function of missing activated factor VIII, which is needed for effective blood clotting. Its structure differs from factor VIII; therefore, the medicine is unaffected by factor VIII inhibitors.
