Introduction to Erbitux 100mg Injection

Erbitux 100mg Injection is an anticancer medication containing the active ingredient Cetuximab, which belongs to the class of drugs known as monoclonal antibodies. It is used to treat metastatic colorectal cancer, either alone or in combination with other therapies. Additionally, it is effective in treating certain types of squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck. Cancer is a condition characterized by uncontrolled and abnormal cell growth.

Do not use Erbitux 100mg injection if you are allergic to Cetuximab or any other component of this medication. This treatment is not recommended for children and adolescents. Please inform your doctor if you have any heart, kidney, or lung conditions. Also, notify your healthcare provider if you are allergic to red meat, have had tick bites, or test positive for antibodies, as this may cause a severe allergic reaction. If you experience eye problems such as blurred vision, redness, severe dryness, or eye pain, inform your doctor.

Your healthcare provider will perform blood tests to monitor your white blood cell (WBC) count since this medication, especially when combined with platinum-based chemotherapy, can reduce WBC levels. If you are receiving a combination of treatment with fluoropyrimidines, such as Fluoropyrimidine, be aware that this can increase the risk of serious heart problems.

Important precautions: Do not breastfeed or drive while receiving Erbitux. Discuss effective contraception methods with your doctor, as this medication should not be used during pregnancy.
