Introduction to Emtreo 5gm Injection

Emtreo 5g Injection contains the active ingredient Treosulfan. It is an anti-cancer medication classified as an alkylating agent. This medication is used in combination with Fludarabine to treat allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant (alloHSCT) in adults with both malignant and non-malignant conditions. In children over one month of age, it is used to treat malignant diseases.

Do not use Emtreo 5g Injection if you are allergic to Treosulfan or any of its other ingredients. Inform your doctor if you have any infections or disorders affecting the heart, lungs, liver, or kidneys. Before starting treatment, notify your healthcare provider if you have received any live vaccines, or if you have Fanconi anemia (a genetic disorder causing bone marrow failure) or other DNA repair disorders. This medication may lower your blood cell counts (myelosuppression); your doctor will regularly monitor your blood counts and liver function tests until your blood cell levels recover.

Before receiving Emtreo 5g Injection, tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Use effective contraception during treatment and for six months after the last dose. Treosulfan can affect fertility; it is advised not to father a child during treatment and up to 6 months afterwards. In pediatric patients, skin irritation or diaper rash may occur, so frequent diaper changes are recommended for 6–8 hours. Contact your healthcare provider for more details.
