Introduction to Dexona Tablet

Dexona Tablet contains dexamethasone, a corticosteroid with strong anti-inflammatory effects. It helps reduce swelling, redness, heat, and pain associated with a wide range of conditions affecting different parts of the body. These include allergic reactions, skin problems, hormonal (endocrine) disorders, digestive diseases, blood disorders, nervous system and kidney conditions, eye diseases, rheumatic disorders, and certain types of cancer.

Dexamethasone is a synthetic glucocorticoid. Glucocorticoids are hormones normally produced by the adrenal glands that play an important role in maintaining overall health and regulating inflammation.

Do not use Dexona Tablet if you are allergic to dexamethasone or any of its ingredients, or if you have a fungal infection. Before starting this medicine, inform your doctor if you have liver, kidney, or heart problems; breathing disorders; diabetes; eye conditions; seizures; any active infection; tuberculosis; or a history of mental health disorders. Taking the tablet with food is recommended to help prevent stomach discomfort.

Common side effects may include high blood pressure, slowed growth in children, vision changes, cataracts, eye discomfort, mood changes such as depression, and worsening or activation of tuberculosis. This medicine can weaken your immune system, making it more difficult to fight infections. Contact your doctor if you notice symptoms such as fever, sore throat, or cough.

Dexona Tablet is not considered safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding. If you become pregnant while taking this medication, inform your doctor immediately.

Inform your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, vaccines, nutritional and vitamin supplements, and herbal products. Certain medications may interact with Dexona Tablet and reduce effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects. Inform your physician if you had the rotavirus vaccine before the treatment.
