Introduction to Dasatib 50mg Tablet

Dasatib 50 mg Tablet contains the active ingredient dasatinib. It is prescribed for adults and children older than one year who have Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML). This medication is used to treat newly diagnosed Philadelphia chromosome-positive (Ph+) CML in the chronic phase, as well as Ph+ Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in patients who do not respond to or cannot tolerate other treatments.

Chronic Myeloid Leukemia is a type of blood cancer in which the body produces an excessive number of white blood cells due to a genetic change involving the Philadelphia chromosome. Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, the most common type of blood cancer in children, occurs when immature white blood cells (lymphocytes) grow rapidly and survive longer than they should.

Common side effects of Dasatib 50 mg Tablet include diarrhea, headache, cough, skin rash, nausea, fatigue, vomiting, muscle pain, weakness, reduced appetite, and fluctuations in blood pressure (either high or low). Contact your doctor if these side effects persist or become troublesome.

Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you are allergic to Dasatib 50 mg or any of its components. Also let your healthcare provider know if you have a history of liver or heart disease, breathing problems, chest pain, ongoing cough, hepatitis B infection, or bleeding disorders. This medication may significantly lower the number of platelets, white blood cells (WBC), or red blood cells (RBC), so regular blood tests are important during treatment.

Be sure to inform your doctor about all medicines you are taking, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, antacids, and herbal supplements. Dasatib 50 mg Tablet is not recommended for children under one year of age.

Children and adults with chronic myeloid leukemia.
Adults with Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph+ ALL) with resistance to prior therapy.
