Introduction to Dasamyl 70mg Tablet

Dasamyl 70 mg tablet contains dasatinib as its active component. It is indicated for adults and children over one year of age diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML). This medication is used to treat newly diagnosed Philadelphia chromosome–positive (Ph+) CML in the chronic phase, as well as Ph+ Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in patients who are resistant or intolerant to other therapies.

Chronic Myeloid Leukemia is a type of blood cancer in which the body produces an excessive number of abnormal white blood cells due to a genetic mutation involving the Philadelphia chromosome. Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, the most common blood cancer in children, occurs when immature white blood cells (lymphocytes) multiply rapidly and survive longer than normal.

Common side effects associated with Dasamyl 70 mg include diarrhea, headache, cough, skin rash, nausea, fatigue, vomiting, muscle pain, weakness, reduced appetite, and changes in blood pressure (either increased or decreased). If any of these side effects continue or become bothersome, consult your doctor.

Do not use this medication if you are allergic to dasatinib or any of its ingredients. Before starting treatment, inform your physician if you have liver or heart disease, breathing problems, chest pain, persistent cough, a history of hepatitis B infection, or bleeding disorders. This medicine may cause a significant decrease in platelet, white blood cell, or red blood cell counts, so regular monitoring through blood tests is essential.

Inform your healthcare provider about all medicines you are currently taking, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, antacids, and herbal supplements. Dasamyl 70 mg is not recommended for children under one year of age.

Children and adults with chronic myeloid leukemia.
Adults with Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph+ ALL) with resistance to prior therapy.
