Introduction to Castramid 50mg Tablet

Castramid 50mg Tablet contains the active ingredient Bicalutamide and is used in the treatment of advanced prostate cancer. It belongs to a class of medications called non-steroidal anti-androgens. Castramid is usually prescribed in combination with a Luteinizing Hormone-Releasing Hormone (LHRH) analog or following surgical removal of the testicles.

The tablet can be taken with or without food, but it should be taken at the same time every day. The dosage depends on the patient’s condition and must be followed exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Do not take more than the recommended dose, as this can lead to serious side effects. Even if the patient feels well, the medication should be continued as directed.

Castramid is part of androgen deprivation therapy, which may include radiation, surgery, and hormonal therapy for patients at high risk.
