Cabaxan 60mg Injection contains cabazitaxel, an anticancer medicine. It is used in combination with the steroid medications prednisone or prednisolone to treat hormone-refractory metastatic prostate cancer that has progressed after other anticancer treatments, including docetaxel.

About the Condition:

Cancer is caused by uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells.

Many early-stage prostate cancers need normal testosterone to grow.

In hormone-refractory metastatic prostate cancer, the cancer continues to grow even when testosterone levels are very low.

When Not to Use:

If you have severe liver problems.

If you have recently received a yellow fever vaccine.

Key Risks and Side Effects:

Major toxicities include myelosuppression (low blood counts), neurotoxicity (nerve damage), and allergic reactions.

Neutropenia (low white blood cell count) is the most common side effect.

Regular blood tests are essential: weekly during the first treatment cycle and before each subsequent cycle to adjust the dose if needed.

Avoid live vaccines while receiving this drug. Inactivated or killed vaccines are safe.

Pregnancy and Fertility Precautions:

This drug may make you dizzy. Do not drive, use machinery, or do anything that needs alertness until you can do it safely. If you are addicted to alcohol or have liver disease or epilepsy, talk to your doctor before taking this medicine.
