Bortiva 2 mg Injection is a chemotherapy medication classified as a proteasome inhibitor and contains bortezomib as its active ingredient. It is used for the treatment of multiple myeloma, a cancer of the plasma cells in the bone marrow, and mantle cell lymphoma, a rare type of lymphoma affecting the lymph nodes. This injection is often given in combination with other chemotherapy drugs such as pegylated liposomal doxorubicin, rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, dexamethasone, prednisolone, or thalidomide, especially in patients who have not received prior treatment and are not eligible for stem cell transplantation.

Common side effects may include pneumonia, loss of appetite, skin sensitivity, tingling or burning sensations, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, mouth sores, constipation, muscle and bone pain, hair loss, fever, infections, itching, redness, dehydration, and digestive issues. Inform your doctor if any of these side effects persist or interfere with daily activities.

Do not use Bortiva 2 mg Injection if you are allergic to bortezomib or any of its components, or if you have severe heart or lung problems. Before starting treatment, tell your doctor if you have neuropathy (nerve damage), cardiac disorders, serious lung conditions, pulmonary disorders, posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES), gastrointestinal issues, low platelet count (thrombocytopenia), low white blood cell count (neutropenia), tumor lysis syndrome, liver disorders, or diabetes, as this injection may affect blood sugar levels.
