Bortecad 2.5 mg Injection is a chemotherapy medication that belongs to the class of proteasome inhibitors and contains bortezomib as its active ingredient. It is used to treat multiple myeloma, a type of cancer affecting plasma cells in the bone marrow, and mantle cell lymphoma, a rare form of lymphoma that involves the lymph nodes. This medicine is often given in combination with other chemotherapy drugs such as pegylated liposomal doxorubicin, rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, dexamethasone, prednisolone, or thalidomide, particularly in patients who have not received prior treatment and are not eligible for a stem cell transplant.

Common side effects of Bortecad 2.5 mg Injection may include pneumonia, loss of appetite, skin sensitivity, tingling or burning sensations, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, mouth sores, constipation, muscle and bone pain, hair loss, fever, infections, itching, redness, dehydration, and other gastrointestinal issues. Inform your doctor if any of these side effects are persistent or bothersome.

Do not use Bortecad 2.5 mg Injection if you are allergic to bortezomib or any of its ingredients, or if you have severe heart or lung conditions. Before starting treatment, tell your doctor if you have neuropathy, heart problems, severe lung or pulmonary disorders, posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES), gastrointestinal disorders, low platelet count (thrombocytopenia), low white blood cell count (neutropenia), tumor lysis syndrome, liver problems, or diabetes, as this medication may affect blood sugar levels.
