Introduction to Asparawem 5000IU Injection

Asparawem 5000 IU Injection contains L-asparaginase as its active ingredient. It is used in the treatment of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), a cancer of the white blood cells, in patients aged four months and older. In ALL, white blood cells known as lymphocytes grow and multiply in an abnormal and uncontrolled manner. This condition is also referred to as Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia.

Asparawem 5000 IU Injection should not be used in patients with severe pancreatic disorders or in those who are allergic to any of its ingredients. Diabetic patients should inform their physician before starting treatment, as this medicine contains glucose. Common side effects include muscle pain, nausea, infections, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.

Effective birth control should be used during treatment with Asparawem 5000 IU Injection and for at least three months after the final dose. Women are advised to use non-oral contraceptive methods during this period.
