Adcetris 50 mg Injection is an anticancer medicine containing brentuximab vedotin, which is a CD30-directed monoclonal antibody–drug conjugate (ADC). It is mainly used for the treatment of classical Hodgkin lymphoma, systemic anaplastic large cell lymphoma (sALCL), and cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL). It may be prescribed as an initial treatment or when previous therapies have not produced adequate results.

Adcetris works by specifically targeting the CD30 protein found on certain cancer cells. Once attached, it releases a chemotherapy drug called monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE) directly inside the cancer cells. This targeted mechanism helps destroy cancer cells while limiting damage to normal, healthy cells.

This medicine is administered intravenously by a qualified healthcare professional in a hospital or clinical setting. Self-administration is not recommended. The dose and length of treatment are decided by the doctor based on the patient’s medical condition, body weight, and response to treatment.

Inhibition of cancer cell growth: By disrupting the internal structure of cancer cells, it prevents their division and multiplication. Reduced impact on healthy cells: Its targeted action helps minimise damage to normal cells compared to conventional chemotherapy. Tumour size reduction: Helps shrink tumours and control disease progression in CD30-positive lymphomas. Improved disease control: Aids in achieving remission or slowing the progression of Hodgkin lymphoma, systemic anaplastic large cell lymphoma, and cutaneous T-cell lymphoma

Interaction of Adcetris 50mg Injection with other drugs

Inform your doctor if you have or had liver, kidney, lung, or heart disease. Notify if you're taking any other prescription, OTC, or herbal medications. Avoid live vaccines during treatment. Men should not father a child during treatment and for 6 months after the last dose. Women should avoid pregnancy for at least 6 months after the last injection. Adcetris may interact with the following drugs: Amiodarone Atazanavir Azithromycin Anticonvulsants Digoxin Thiazide diuretics Cholestyramine Certain antacids Always inform your doctor about all ongoing medications to avoid interactions.
